Establishing the Public Health Agency of Catalonia
Today, January 31, met 3 months after the entry into force of the Public Health Law. Law 18/2009, establishing the Public Health Agency of Public Health of Catalonia (ASPCA), as executive, ruled jointly by the Catalan government and the municipalities, which pay special attention to local ial’àmbit territory.
The ASPCA integrates all the public health services, adding to the protection of health and food safety relating to the monitoring of public health, preventing disease and in health promotion and occupational health and environmental health.
The ASPCA is expected to enter operation in 2010 and integrate this within its scope the current Health Protection Agency and Food Safety, although the latter is maintained as an area with specialized technical independence.
